Please note: this disc allows uses the same mount bobbins as the BMW original disc - please see BRA35745 (not supplied).
With contoured profile to reduce weight, EBC solid disc brakes are made from low carbon steel, zinc plated to reduce corrosion. They feature the new scraper slot system which has proved to be so successful in preventing early life rotor damage when bedding in new brakes. The scraper slots remove any loose particles/debris as the pads bed in during early life after fitment and prevent rotor scoring. EBC discs have been designed to be used with matching EBC brake pads and these should be used or the warranty may be invalidated.
This disc replaces the original (now discontinued) BMW disc with removeable bobbins and oval mounting holes, similar to BRA70939. For R1200 and F800 models, each disc is attached to the wheel with 5 x mount bobbin BRA35745, 5 x wave washer BRA14888, and 5 x screw BRA32329. You can retrofit these discs to bikes from 2008, replacing the BMW 'rivet pack' discs, i.e. the ones with permanently attached mounting bobbins. To do this, you will need all of the above fittings, plus 4 x washer set BRA97387 to space the disc out from the wheel and centre it in the caliper.
