This Lightweight Piston and Barrel Kit provides everything required for upgrading BMW R100 models produced from 09/1975 to 09/1980 (i.e. models with a 99mm diameter crankcase mouth) with high quality, lightweight components. In addition to two nikasil plated aluminium cylinders, the kit includes forged pistons that are 110 grams lighter than the originals. The piston compression ratio is 9.8:1. Also included are 2 high-quality piston ring sets and gudgeon pins with circlips. In the kit there is a top end gasket set, excluding the barrel base O-ring as this is not used in the upgrade kit. You can fit ENA19125 or use OIA62376 instead.
Along with a comprehensive installation guide to round off the set. As with its little 800cc sister, the 1000cc engine gets a real increase in power and torque over the entire power spectrum after the kit has been fitted. Around 67 hp is available after the modification. Once in use, the kit shows an improvement in quiet-running and - because of the lighter pistons - a faster revving, lively response.
