This Lightweight Piston and Barrel Kit provides everything required for upgrading BMW R100 models produced from 09/1980 onwards with high quality components. 

In addition to two Nikasil plated cylinders (which have stainless steel pushrods fitted), the kit includes forged pistons that are 110 grams lighter than the originals, as well as high-quality piston ring sets and gudgeon pins with circlips. 

A top end gasket set and a comprehensive installation guide round off the set. 

As with its little 800cc sister, the 1000cc engine gets a real increase in power and torque over the entire power spectrum after the kit has been fitted.  The new pistons run a compression ratio of 9.5:1.  Around 67 hp is available after the modification. 

Once in use, the kit shows an improvement in quiet-running and, because of the lighter pistons, a faster revving, livelier response.
