Model information
- 20W50 Mineral oil before 6000 miles during running-in process
- Synthetic oil is OK to use after 6000 miles. We suggest a 15W50 (API SJ, JASO MA2 minimum) semi-synthetic for UK use
- Capacity: 4 litres oil & filter change
- 75W90 GL5 Synthetic
- Capacity: 0.8-0.9 litres
- 75W90 GL5 Synthetic
- Capacity: 0.2 litres
- DOT 4
- Hyspin V10 blue (Important: do not mix with pink Hydraulikol LS!)
Measurements taken on a cold engine:
-Intake 0.15mm
- Exhaust 0.30mm
- 12V 14AH
- Dimensions circa (L) 150mm (W) 87mm x (H) 145mm
- Front: 120/70/17
- Rear: 180/55/17
- Headlight high and low beam: H4 60/55W halogen
- Side light 5W
Maintenance schedule
- Change the engine oil and fit a new oil filter
- Check and adjust the valve clearances
- Check the operation of the clutch system
- Check the operation of the brake system
- Check throttle cable operation and freeplay
- Check spoke tension - wire spoked wheels
- Check and lubricate the stand pivots
- Check the side stand and starter circuit
- Check throttle synchronisation
- Check battery condition
- Fit a new air filter
- Bleed / test the ABS (only carried out by a BMW dealer)
- Fit new spark plugs
- Fit a new alternator belt
- Change oil in final drive / gearbox
- Change the brake fluid
- Check the tightness of all nuts and bolts
- Check the condition of wheels, wheel bearings and tyres
- Check front and rear suspension units
